Kena Klowns

The Kena Funmakers were founded in 1952, which makes our Klown unit one of the earliest units of Kena Shriners. In1975 the name was changed to the Kena Klowns. No matter the name, we enjoy having fun and joking around. The best thing about our unit is the honor and privilege of being involved and working hand in hand with the children of our community, including those of Shriners Children's.

On a national level, the Klowns are active in the International Shrine Clown Association. This association sponsors the ‘Sneaker Fund’ which was originally set up to purchase and provide sneakers for children in our hospitals. Today this fund is used to support Shriners Children's and their innovative care.

A little closer to home, the Klowns are also associated with the Mid Atlantic Shrine Clown Association which is a regional association of clown units. At our annual convention in the fall we participate in make-up and skit competitions at the yearly Clown-A-Rama.

The Klowns meet on the second Wednesday of the month, at 7:00 p.m.. Klown class begins at 6:30 p.m.

An application for membership can be found here.
