Kena Shrine Car Club History

(As of the 50th anniversary of Kena in 2002)

The Kena Antique and Classic Car Club was started in 1975 when some of the members of the Kena Motor Corp formed a club for those enthusiastic about the preservation and restoration of antique and classic American automobiles.

The Club actively participates in a number of parades in addition to all Temple parades, as well as numerous social functions for club members. Each year the Club hosts an open car show which feature club members cars as well as other antique, classic, hot rod, custom and commercial vehicles.

Today (2002), the Club has 65 members with an excellent assortment of fine, well preserved American cars with some of the most popular names, including: Chrysler, Cadillac, Lincoln, Mustang, Camero, Firebird, Dodge, Chevrolet, Ford and Pontiac that date from the 1930’s through the 1980’s. We take pride in our automobiles and enjoy displaying them as representatives of Kena and all Shriners.

Move forward to 2019

2019 marks the 44th year of the Kena Car Club. When the Club was first formed in 1975 it was titled The Kena Antique and Classic Car Club. In 2005 the Club was renamed the Kena Car Club and any car, truck or motorcycle that would be of interest to the general public was included in our by-laws.

The Club has four elected officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and one appointed position: Quartermaster. We have 22 members with various antique, classic, street rod and special interest vehicles dating from the 1910’s to the 2010’s.

We are an active club and participate in various Kena Temple parades during the year. In addition to parades we continue to host an open car show each year where all makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles are invited. Our show has been annual event since 1991 (except in 2018 when Kena moved from Fairfax to Manassas). In 2019, it will be our 28th annual show. We also participate in various Kena social functions during the course of a year.
