The Election of Officers for the Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association will be held on Thursday, September 8 in the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 2nd Floor, Suite 2 ABC immediately following the Necrology Service. All nobles are invited and encouraged to attend.

Hospitality Room

The Kena Shriners Hospitality Room is located on the first floor of the Hampton Inn, next door to the Breakfast Room.

Hours of Operation:

Thursday – 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Friday – 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday – 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (after parade party); 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Clean Up – 11 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

The hospitality room is a place for nobles, their ladies, families and guests from Kena Shriners and other temples who are part of the Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association to socialize and have fun. It provides a variety of light snacks, beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and some fun games. It is not a restaurant. Guests should plan to eat breakfast provided by the hotel and visit one of the delicious nearby eating establishments for lunch and dinner. All food and drinks are meant to be consumed in the hospitality room.

Our hospitality room is staffed by volunteers. The nobles and ladies that have volunteered a portion of their personal time to make your visit comfortable should have our most sincere appreciation. If you need something, please ask and they will do their best to help you. Please keep in mind volunteers are limited by what has been provided to them to serve you. Please thank them profusely. Should you have concerns, please contact Illustrious Myke Glaze or divan members.

You may also choose to visit the hospitality rooms of other temples. Please be advised their rooms may have limited hours as well. You must wear your convention badge for access. Most importantly, represent Kena Shriners with pride and conduct yourself accordingly.

Ladies Luncheon

This year’s ladies luncheon will be held at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel in the panoramic ballroom. This is a great opportunity to mix and mingle with ladies from all over the mid-Atlantic region and enjoy delicious food and fellowship. Pre-registration is required.

Ever wonder where your fellow Shriners get all their cool Shriners gear – at the Marketplace! The Marketplace is your one stop shop for cool shirts, hats, stickers, car emblems, pins, jewelry, gifts, regalia and other unique items. Make sure you stop by and take home something to remember your time at MASA.

The Marketplace is open on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and from 9-5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Necrology Service

Necrology is the practice of remembering those who have passed on. At the MASA Necrology Service we remember our dearly departed nobles and memorialize their contributions to our organization. All nobles and their ladies are invited and encouraged to attend this service which takes place on Thursday, September 8 at 1 p.m. in the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 2nd Floor, Ste. 2 ABC following the lunch recess.

First, second and third place awards will be given in 25 different categories, so units and clubs are encouraged to look sharp during the parade. In addition, an outstanding Shrine Center and Judges Award – Chuck Jordan Memorial Award – will be given.

President-Elect's Pageant

Each year, the incoming president of the Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association hosts a pageant. The pageant is used to introduce the incoming officers of MASA and the incoming Potentates (Chief Rabban) of MASA temples. Noble Tony LaCava and Lady Yvonne have requested that all Kena family members in attendance, come to the pageant and walk in with them when they are introduced. Further details will be provided on site. Everyone is asked to assemble on Friday, September 9 at 3:30 p.m. in the Convention Center in Ballroom 1. There is no cost for the pageant and shuttle buses will take anyone interested in going from the hotel to the convention center and back.
