Book Review Well, not really, for we haven't seen the book as yet - but - based on the reputation of the author, we ordered a first lot of "Dungeon, Fire and Sword: The Knights Templar in the Crusades," by John J. Robinson, author of "Born in Blood," scheduled for publication December 27, 1991. To make it more available, we will, as we did with "Born in Blood," offer this new book at a discount, $24.95 less 20%, $19.96, plus shipping and applicable sales tax. (CA $23.26, out of state $21.71, foreign $23.00) We found this information in the December 1991 New Jersey Freemason in an article titled "John J. Robinson." It continued with: "Born in Blood has been published in the U.S., Great Britain, Australia and Mexico. (In Spanish Jan. 5, 1992) "Robinson has appeared on over 50 radio and TV shows, explaining and debating the values of Freemasonry. He has gone head-to-head with anti-Masonic authors, pointing out the gross flaws of their arguments. On one morning in October he appeared on a 62 city radio network, then on the Christian Science Monitor cable TV network in the afternoon, so over 4 million people heard good things about Freemasonry on that one day, "He is a frequient speaker to Masonic bodies, from individual lodges and Scottish rite valleys, to such groups as the 1991 Trinennal Conference of Knoghts Templar, the semi-annual conference of the Philalethes Society and the Grand Lodges of Florida and Washington, D.C. He has been invited by the American Canadian Grand Lodge of Frankfort to address the Grand Lodges of Germany on November 15 in Bavaria. He will chair a workshop session of the Conference of Grand Masters in Washington in February 1992. (RAH: This latter I really would like to see and hear so hope they video tape it.) "The Philalethes Society, the Masonic research and education organization, has honored him with its Distinguished Service Medal for 'outstanding service to the cause of Freemasonry,' the first time that award has been given to a non-Mason." Incidentally, "Born is Blood" is still available and highly recommended, $18.95 less 20%, $ 15.16, plus shipping and sales tax (CA $18.08, out of state $16.91, foreign $17.66) One point, "Born in Blood" has had a contriversial label among members of our Craft. Reading it is wonderful in that it has caused many, for the first time, to think, to debate, about Freemasonry's origin and even premises, a blessing in disguise. More on this in our January mailing.
